People need to stop "identifying" with a party as their team and start just figuring out what they actually believe and why and then vote accordingly.

However, more and more are waking up to the fact that the Democrats haven't done anything for Black people since LBJ got Civil Rights and Voting Rights legislation in the post-JFK 60s.

Sadly, for many Black people, that was enough. No follow through since.

Look, what you say you do versus what you do are two different things.

Many know I'm a conservative now. By now, I mean all my liberal things I am a proponent to have been met. Pro gay marriage, pro gay rights. A number of other smaller things.

But the Dems have gone full on left-wing crazy and the Republicans have actually shifted to the left to where I was and am.

I don't tell everyone this, but it's the simple fact. If someone that I don't know well, or I know it's a big left, I likely will tell them I am voting for the Dems. Why?

Because the lefty people are crazy. They can make your life hell. Republicans will have discussions with you but that is it.

But I vote straight Republican now.

Not to be mean, but what do you want them to do for you?

You say for many, sadly, that was enough. I'm not sure what else you want. I don't think I should pay for things done in the past that my family wasn't even here for.

I'm all for equal rights based on race. I'm against giving certain races benefits.

I'm for granting certain allowances on admissions to college allowing for the type of school you attended. I had no idea there were SAT courses when I took the test.

Anyways, I think allowances should be made for that. But giving allowance for races only is racist. Furthermore, the way diversity is explained is ridiculous. Multicultural but from the same socioeconomic level isn't diverse. Their life experiences are much more similar than a rich white guy and a poor white guy. Even more dramatic for a rich black guy and a poor black guy.

Anyways, you are correct that you will be talked over the coals if you say you are going to vote for Republicans. So don't say you are. But you get to vote however you want.

And in my opinion, the Dems care little about African Americans. They give them lip service, but they have been about 12 percent of the population for a while now. They want votes.

The Hispanic population is growing dramatically and will continue to grow. They want their vote. This the giving everything to illegal aliens.

Just be yourself and stop trying to label yourself. I’ve been an independent for 40 years. You get a lot less junk mail that way.

The newbies on the Left want radical. If that is the direction of the Democratic Party, then moderates should be running to the Right side of the aisle.
