This is how we get RINOs, and a severely weakened party platform that nobody wants to vote for.

This. The leftist who says we'll THIS is a step too far ignores the worldview elephant in the room that had them running down this road for decades.

Here's my thing on the whole college stuff...

Stop forcing diversity. People will always self segregate and instead of admissions allowances and forced diversity, state governments need to do 3 things

1. Force cost annual cost savings by denying additional appropriated dollars without a direct plan for academic outcomes. Example: dont ask for more money without proof of student outcome improvement.

2. Make sure historically Black colleges are in better shape via infrastructure and programs. That keeps them vibrant and attractive for Black kids (or anyone else) who want to attend them or are denied admission to flagships. An example of this is Auburn University at Montgomery. AUM has a higher percentage of Black students than Auburn University. However, Alabama State University (located in Montgomery) existed prior to AUM. Increase effectiveness at ASU and fold AUM, and allow AU to admit who they please.

3. Fold all directional universities that were created to siphon Black students from HBCUs. This was done to make traditional "predominantly white" universities look more diverse after desegregation.

This is an interesting statement and thanks for sharing. My .02, admittedly not worth much, is that you need to decide what type of ideals you want to follow. Honestly, nobody is really a "republican" or "democrat" because of how fractured and screwed up both parties are.

Frankly, our government problems are not related to the presidency. It is congress! Both sides! I wish I could blow it up and start over but that is another thread.

As for your point, I asked my gf, who is a teacher, if she liked this economy. She said yes. If a democrat gets the presidency/house/senate the economy will go downhill. That is pretty much an absolute result of their beliefs.

Voting republican has the opportunity to continue our success as a nation. Seems an easy choice at this time.

As for being accepted, personally, that is a group think that I do not subscribe to. I vote personally in each election and continue my belief that a successful economy is the best harbinger of good future fortune. If a democrat proposed those ideas, I would vote democrat (ie Trump, LoL)

Explain. Im confused... leftists typically never vote for a Republican. I have done so on many occasions, especially in local/state races.

Sadly, for many Black people, that was enough. No follow through since.

Become an Independent. It will get the bad taste of the Democrat party out of your mouth (psyche) and simply vote for the best candidate, regardless of party affiliation.

The GOP is a dying party as well. Trump breathed new life into it, but once he’s gone, they will crumble because they have no spine. I Could care less about the actual GOP party and their alleged principles. All I know is that they are better than the Democrats and trump is one of them allegedly

No, your ideological purity is why the GOP can't win. Get over yourself and stop being stupid

Mostly true but people like the Vermont governor calling themselves "Republican" is an embarrassment.

Really? Current POTUS? Currently controlling Senate?

Ideologies are why we have political parties. If you don’t agree with the ideologies, you can remain an independent.

Dude...

Conservative whites LIKE black folk that WORK, pay taxes like the rest of us, and genuinely contribute to the betterment of our society.

How can you not see this?

I keep saying Trump will grab 60%+ of the popular vote. Call me crazy.

It's time for blacks to get off the Democrat's plantation.

Ralph Waldo Emerson would tell you: "For nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure. And therefore a man must know how to estimate a sour face. The by-standers look askance on him in the public street or in the friend's parlour. If this aversation had its origin in contempt and resistance like his own, he might well go home with a sad countenance; but the sour faces of the multitude, like their sweet faces, have no deep cause, but are put on and off as the wind blows and a newspaper directs."

I understand the need and desire for acceptance. I have many beliefs that collide with my family. I try not to let them change who I am, though. While I may not voice my personal beliefs to them for harmony's sake, I will still vote in what I perceive to be my best interest.

If these people are just friends and not family, are they really in your best interest? I don't want to presume to know your situation, but sometimes, cutting ties is for the best. If they shun you just for having a different opinion, do they still have a positive influence on your life?

The simplest I can put it is, "Would you want your kids to do something just for acceptance instead of going with their principle?"

Maybe your stance and ability to articulate it will influence others to accept your point of view, to accept what they know to be true despite what was ingrained in them.

I initially laughed at some of those that exposed me to my current world view, but now I understand what they were saying and thank them for opening my eyes.

Best of luck.

No it isn't. That's how voter discrimination by the republicans happens didn't you know? They know how you have been voting and will refuse to issue you a voter ID.
