California high school football team forfeits game after 200+ students walk out over the team captain posting "Free the Cornell 7.”

LINK

An anonymous cheerleader parent told the Press Democrat that the captain who made the post was not allowed to attend a team dinner that took place Thursday, but did not know whether he faced any other consequences.

The walkout comes during a week when many protests took place across the country in response to Cornell’s alleged botched investigation into the rape allegations that have become national news. They happened in cities such as Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Baltimore and Orlando.

As for the football team, the Prospectors fall to 2-4 on the season after the forfeit, and 0-2 in conference play.

Nice to see young people passionate enough to stand up for something. That spirit is what this country was founded on if you think about it.

California - check
Lefty/Woke fricks - check
White guilt - check

Their team seemingly sucks anyway.

Especially if they are standing up to shutdown free speech ... if you think about it?

The team forfeited due to illness.
You've got a bright future in today's journalism.

And, just like that, the #MeTooHorny Movement was born.

So a fellow student (team captain makes no difference) tweets something other students disagree with, so they walk out of school? Is that correct?

Free them from what? Are any of them in custody?

Not for the sake of perpetuating a lie to get some money. This screams all the same "taking advantage of the current culture climate" garbage as we have been seeing since getting a noose in the middle of winter in Chicago for a subway sandwich. LOLZ

The reported reason for the forfeit, which was confirmed Friday evening, is a lack of healthy players. Head coach Adam Rosenstein told Morris that the team had just five healthy lineman.

Seems pretty important to leave out of the OP

Why was the QB disciplined for the post? Under Tinker v. Des Moines ISD, students do not "shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate". So WTF?

So these students don’t believe in innocent till proven guilty.

Got it.

Someone remind them of that when the next George Floyd comes along.

My bad. It was a team captain. May or may not have been the QB.

“However, the football team has had bigger issues than a lack of available bodies. Earlier this month, a captain on the school’s football team posted, “Free the Cornell 7,” on Instagram”

“An anonymous cheerleader parent told the Press Democrat that the captain who made the post was not allowed to attend a team dinner that took place Thursday, but did not know whether he faced any other consequences.”

What I have heard suggests it was not "botched" at all.
