me either. But I made more money than ever in my life during COVID. I was issued two food stamp cards for two kids. Here is the kicker, neither were even still in public schools.
They put funds on the cards up until last year. My wife was mortified. I proudly used every penny to buy whole prime beef tenderloins. They gave me like 2k thru it all
Nice admission of fraud punishable by law you got here

I can confirm this happened. My son attended a Title I public school and all students were sent a pre loaded EBT card during COVID regardless of parental income. I didn’t get the kind of money you mentioned but I did get enough to certainly ease any potential financial burden I had due to my job being shut down.

I don't have a problem with limited welfare, but it has to be paid back like any other loan or assistance.

I suppose one could maybe question the overall ultimate morality of what he did, but how would it be “fraud”?
ETA, Yeah I guess the kids no longer in public school point, could do it. Missed that.

I know an old lady in our neighborhood who is in her 70’s and wheelchair bound. She gets $50 a month in food stamps. She is one of the people the program was designed for.
Her crackhead worthless daughter gets $200 a month in food stamps. She is one of the people who should not be getting food stamps.
People have come together and will be helping out the old lady, but not the crackhead daughter. I hope that bitch starves to death.

Like automatically? How did that work?

Is this a real stat? Greater than 50% of snap beneficiaries were born outside of the US? Or am I reading that wrong?

Covid was strange times. Honestly don't even blame you.

Once schools re-opened and students received school meals, these funds should've automatically ceased.

Prisoner's dilemma, bud.
You'll never have a functional society that is dependent on everyone picking the least optimal personal option.
You have to eliminate the game entirely, not hope everyone plays it group-optimally.
If you want to remain prisoners, that is.
Notice it's not called the "Heroes Dilemma."
Anyway, my point wasn't that it would be successful in changing society. My point was that the individuals making choices are still personally responsible for their own choices and don't get to blame "the system" for them.
Stated more to the point, the dude upthread eating steaks on taxpayer's dime is a shitbag. "The system" does not excuse his behavior.

Folks using SNAP to feed their kids
Some of them are not even feeding their kids with SNAP. The school districts are feeding the damn kids year round.

The problem is everyone on SNAP is just like this D-bag. Nobody - except maybe Wal-Mart executives- is going hungry if SNAP went away.
Posted on 10/28/25 at 3:24 pm to TigerAllNightLong
There MAY be people who go hungry without SNAP but, by far, lots of them could get food by other means. They just don’t want to pay for it because they have that money earmarked for other shite.
Posted on 10/28/25 at 3:32 pm to VoxDawg
Most people on SNAP have jobs. The myth that people in the program are lazy is false.
Posted on 10/28/25 at 5:15 pm to Major Dutch Schaefer
There are 330, million people in the United States and you are shocked that 40 million of those people need food assistance? That’s a little more than 10% of the population.

Do they have anything to back this claim up?

Its the people gaming the system that irks most people. The new one I learned about this week was the food trucks where EBT buys the ingredients and they make full profit. I used to support those guys and I will never do it again.
