Let's play pretend for a minute. If the "files" (video for example) exist and can prove that the elites (business, political and religious) abused children it is in their own self interest to cover for each other. If one goes down they all go down. This isn't about Trump.. it's about all of them that committed the crimes. If they out Trump it'll burn it all down because he evidence wouldn't stop with him.

If Epstein was "in intelligence", why would he ever have been allowed to be charged and prosecuted?
Same for Ghislaine?
If Trump is in the documents, why wouldn't it have been selectively leaked, victims brought forward, and this hung around his neck well before the elections?
If Epstein was trafficking minors for others, why were the only charges against him and Ghislaine? Why was this the only evidence presented at her trial?

I don't think he's protecting the country. I think he's stalling. Right now is just a terrible time to release it. The economy is strong and going to get stronger, once the tariff deals are in place and interest rates start to come down. Trump doesn't want to jeopardize that right now. My call is that he will call for a special counsel to investigate this thing. A competent investigator will be able to tell if the files have been scrubbed and or doctored up.
If Trump just releases what they have, and someone planted evidence in the mountain of files they have, or even if there is a picture of Trump with a youngish lady at a party, they will crucify and bury him before he gets a chance to prove his innocence. You'll have a bunch of deep state Republicans who would love nothing more than to get rid of they guy who upset their apple cart.
Even if there is nothing regarding Trump in the files, I'm guessing he just doesn't want to disrupt the winning streak he has going right now.

The Biden administration didn't release the files because there's probably a lot of Democratic politicians and donors in there too.
