I'm not religious, and I am not a proponent of "the sky is falling", but it's really hard to ignore where this country is, and in a broader sense, the whole world.
We, the human race, are on a collision course with disaster. I don't know what, and I don't know when, but it seems inevitable at this point.
I could legitimately see a major global collapse happening in the next 5 years, if not sooner. I'm not gonna run out and start buying up canned goods, but I'm certainly gonna make some financial decisions to secure my family.

In your scenario, canned goods would be worth more than money…and probably gold.

if you SERIOUSLY felt this way, you would sell all of your shite today and move to Amish country. Learn penn Dutch, forsake modernity. Get yourself a horse and a plow and get to farming.
