The demonization of crypto has stepped up

I noticed the turbo tax app ask about crypto and capital gains. I know one of the appeals has been the ability to circumvent government scrutiny, but it looks like the same ole lib/government plan has started:
1. Demonize
2. Regulate for the “good” of humanity
3. Destroy
Just heard on fnn how it “may” be leading to off-shore illegalities and/or counterfeiting. It’s a good thing we have such a wholesome government that can clarify what is good and what is bad. Sometimes folks on the money board act like finances and politics are two separate things.

China’s central bank officials recently said that the crypto market should be more firmly regulated as “investment vehicles” or “alternative investments” rather than as “currencies.” Officials said that they aimed to “make sure that speculation in these assets will not create serious financial risks”.
Crypto investors have also been spooked by rumours that regulators in the United States have their eyes on digital assets. Earlier this year, Treasury Secretary and former Federal Reserve chairwoman Janet Yellen called bitcoin “extremely inefficient.” Recent rumours suggest that the Treasury may crackdown on bitcoin over money laundering concerns. Jesse Powell, CEO of the bitcoin exchange Kraken, warned that they could be “some crackdown” on crypto.

deep state doesn't want to lose any control.

Crypto makes you completely dependent on both power and internet. It mostly demonizes itself w/ no outside help.
I find it odd that product designed to "free" folks makes them more dependent on others than ever.
Cash works just as well to circumvent taxes and big brother in my experience. It even works in emergencies when there is no power or internet.

This is what I have always found so odd about it... I guess you could argue that the funds deposited in a bank are now a form of "crypto" as well... Just doesn't seem very freeing when it can disappear at a moment's notice...

It's not a good sign for your cryptocurrency when the price drops 20% on news that Treasury may crack down on its uses as a tool for money laundering ...

If dogecoin reaches even 1/20 of Bitcoin, you frickers will never hear from me again.
Where are you seeing that?

Out of legitimate curiosity, how are Eurodollars treated? Seems like the treatment should be consistent.

"Whithersoever the carcass lies, the birds will gather". There is no way that Government lets Crypto remain untouched; too much a possibility of people keeping their money...and therein...freedom. They'll let the cage get full and then slam the trap door.

How well does it work when the government prints trillions of it out of thin air?

Better than crypto in my experience. Neither are value backed but cash is physical and carries all those advantages with it.

I bought a little crypto recently, but I am very skeptical of how people can claim it to be some sort of currency that can't get f*cked with. The only forms of currency I truly trust are gold, guns, skills, and intellectual capacity.

Who controls it? Is it insured in some manner or another? Can you touch it? If the economy otherwise crashes, how do you spend it?
Honest questions...

Doesn’t seem like that’s the discussion here.
