The government has never been able to generate the good kind of inflation. Such a stupid strategy and you're essentially cheering on the concentration of industry which has always produced horrible economies.

One could easily say “most of the stock markets volume is collusion”.

Every single argument made against crypto has real world examples in all fiat markets.

You guys think this is a point?

quote:

Colluding market makers are free to engage in riskless trades between each other at massive volume inflating prices with each trade. The speed at which prices rise should make that fact obvious.

Lol. You have zero clue as to what you are talking about.

Citadel and Maverick say hi

Not just that the entire repo and bond market is ponzi like as they can only sustain the guise of solvency with growing populations and inflated asset prices.

Something like 25% of the S&P are zombies that can't survive without price fixing in the bond market.

They aren't really printing yet they've taken the next step though in fully embracing the theories circling in academia.

Ya exactly. It's just like holding physical gold. Don't get me wrong I'm a bit of a bug but it would be meaningless to own anything valuable workout lots of guns to protect it.

The physical gold circulating in Rome is still being used today. Let me know what bitcoin is doing in 2,000 years. And don't forget the key to your wallet or let your kid lose your thumb drive.

Not just that but the Treasury owns a frick ton of gold if I remember right. They can use that to recapitalize and deleverage by selling it to the Fed. I think it's one of the more interesting theories floating around.

Central banks and governments are getting concerned about the adoption of crypto by the public. Why? Because crypto cannot be printed.

What do I mean by printed?

The federal government through congress spends more than tax revenue. The federal government sell bonds to make up the difference. The past decades and especially the last decade the Federal Reserve has stepped in and purchased the bonds the U.S. Treasury could not sell to the general public at a particular price. If they tried it would have lowered bond prices too low and raised interest rates greatly. That is unsustainable for a congress that likes to spend more money than it takes in as tax revenue.

Enter crypto. If more and more people adopt crypto as a means as storing part of their wealth and for money transactions it reduces the federal governments control over your money and dampens their deficit spending.

The Federal Reserve Note is designed to decrease in value 2% per year. That is the stated goal of the Federal Reserve. Why would you want to hold on to a depreciating asset? That is just dumb IMO.

You can go right on the Federal Reserve's website and they show right here how much they are printing.

Where do you think the Federal Reserve is getting that money to purchase all those assets to put on their balance sheet. Yeah, they are not saving up money from a part time Uber job...they are fricking printing (digitizing) it.

Crypto has nothing on real currency.

It creates massive wealth inequality and debases our sovereign currency. This isn’t a Republican/Democrat issue. What you are describing is an unsustainable bubble and the creation of cryptocurrencies was both an ingenious use of cryptography in a novel way and a market response to this kind of terrible monetary policy.
