"The bill suspends the debt limit through Jan. 1, 2025"
God help us all.
Edit to add:
I just want everyone to know that we're in good hands. The House is currently not in session but they take things seriously. They are promptly coming back into session tomorrow at the early, crisp hour of 11am.

How rare is it though that ANY House bill passes with more of the minority voting for it than the majority party…..

CBO said this deal will reduce spending by $1.5T compared to projected increases prior to this bill. CBO isn't worth shite, but just putting it there.
Additionally, Massie said this was the best "budget" deal since he's been in Congress. Again, that's a really low bar, but it is what it is.

Like Bongino said,
It's a crappy deal, but it's the only deal.
The "only deal" should have been the bill passed by the HOR months ago, and they should have told the Senate and POTUS, this is the bill, bring it to the Senate floor and
"DO YOUR DAMN JOB!"
McCarthy showed us who he really is, (as most of us suspected) and pussed out when he should have bowed up.
frick him, and frick them all who voted for this bullshite. They sold out the American Citizen yet again. The fate of Sodom and Gomorrah would be too good for Washington DC.

Underlined names are those that voted NO on Ukraine aid, NO on the Omnibus, and NO on McCarthy. They also voted NO on raising the debt ceiling or did not vote on the debt ceiling (Boebert). Only six of these people in the House.
I don't know why Boebert did not vote.
Voted NO

Glad thats over so we can focus on electing people in the Primary who can WIN in the General Nov, 2024.
Say NO to three straight losses.

That tells me that McCarthy has a weak grip on the Republican party.

Screw that. It is a lost cause. I do not give a shite anymore. I retire in December. I have never pulled a blue lever in my life, and pledge to never pull another red one.

Me too. Last Saturday my rep state representative voted to impeach Paxton and now my rep congressman voted for the debt limit bill. Republicans are a worthless bunch.

You are being intention obtuse. You know damn well what Massie said. It's just ignorance.

Being very cynical I suspect many of the GOP voting against it knew it was going to pass easily and then cast a “no” vote purely to placate their electorate with appearances.
Ditto those doing this on the other side of the aisle. People like AOC knew it was going to pass but it’s an excuse for her to push her agenda and make it seem like she’s progressive.
At the end of the day it’s a giant con game being pulled on the public.

America was within a wisp of defaulting on its debt obligations... what did you want to happen? Financial meltdown?
We were on the cusp of having the fiscal equivalent of a power grid meltdown.

And what’s going to happen in the next 1.5 years to keep the same thing from happening again?
Kicking the can down the road isn’t the answer.
The majority of the government needs to be shut down. Permanently.
Millions of unelected bureaucrats in DC and the ridiculous “departments” for which they work are sucking this country dry.
