You’re far underestimating how bad off all those 3rd world countries actually are. The average HDI (Human Development Index) of an Alabama county is about an 0.82 which falls firmly in the developed region. Well above developing countries (2nd world) and FAR FAR above any 3rd countries (0.6 and below).

Alabama has one of the countries oldest non-updated State Constitutions in the USA, in fact it might even be the oldest.
That's it. I was there for a few years back in the 90's and there was a movement at the time to have it re written. I think the guy died that was pushing for it a Dr. Cortes possibly?

There's talk every few years, but it never goes anywhere. As bad as it is, our current crop of legislators would just frick it up even more if they tried re-writing it.

That's why there's Doug Jones to restore order in a land of sheer chaos. Other than Nick Saban it's hard to locate a person in that state w/ an I.Q. > 100.
