There are a bunch of other Democrats running, as usual. How do you think Lori Lightfoot finished 3rd in the last election?
BJ barely won the runoff in 2023 after finishing 2nd in the general election, and his approval rating is in the shitter. I'm not saying Chicago will elect someone much better, but he'll likely lose. Obama stooge Alexi Giannoulias is probably the frontrunner.

Teachers unions need to be shut down as they operate in their current format. They have abandoned any resemblance if their original chartered purpose and are nothing less than a political activist group skimming funds from peoples paychecks.

The assumption is he will win the Democratic nomination. Since he is the incumbent and its Chicago, pretty safe bet he wins the nomination. Theres not much point in running a Republican. The last Republican was elected in 1927.

Ed Vrodolak might have had a shot in the late 80s but almost noone in the local GOP there could stand him as far as I have read.
