While I agree with the general premise, the WRONG people are often incarcerated. Low level drug offenders shouldn't be there. Prison cells should be reserved for those who steal or commit crimes that harm other people. The death penalty should be used regularly for murder and rape, provided DNA proves the case. Believe it or not, there are plenty of corrupt cops and DA's who are more interested in closing a case than getting it right.

This has been a talking point for years, and I still don't believe it.
I'm sure I've committed some unwitting felonies, whether on my taxes or elsewhere, but more than 1,000 per year? That's ridiculous.
