The left went apoplectic when he was hired by the paper

Looks like Atlantic caved to the pressure. Damn shame

And people wonder why Conservatives seek out alternative mediums

Wasn’t the Atlantic bought a few months ago from an extremely liberal woman?

it's very difficult for language to be "violent"

Violent language huh? These are scary, brave new world times we live in. Be carful what you say or think, friends. Speechcrime and Thoughtcrime are very real things.

But their actual rioting and looting in Ferguson was dismissed as "expression."

I dislike their idiocy and their politics. But I despise their blatant disregard and/or intentional subversion of the meaning of words.

You just know that the Atlantic got a ton of cancellations from left wingers and their editors had interns combing over everything they could possibly find about Williamson in order to be able to drop him with a (somewhat) reasonable explanation.

No liberal writer would have had his past tweets combed through like this.

It's utter bullshite. I hate Williamson but I hate censorship, pseudo-censorship, and intolerance far more.

It wasn't anything 1/10th as violent as what Robert DeNiro, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris have said about Trump in the past month.

It wasn't anything 1/10th as violent as what Kevin Williamson wrote in the National Review about blue collar working white American communities deserving to die.

But the above "violent talk" isn't of concern, because it fits the worldview of the Atlantic and 95% of the Atlantic's readers.

Lol. One Conservative was way too much for them . Progressives unravel when presented with anything that violates their Fundamentalist Orthodoxy. Hilarious. The Atlantic demands Less Free Speech!

Scented leftist tripe

"...this runs contrary to The Atlantic's tradition of respectful, well-reasoned debate, and to the values of our workplace..."

This statement is comical unto itself.

Well I expect The Atlantic to fire them as well then.

I was under the impression "women should be hanged for having abortions" was not, in fact, the conservative position

Classifying simple language as "violent" is a dangerous precedent and is meant to desensitize people to the silencing of speech deemed such.

No.
He was saying what is painfully obvious, that small town America is declining, and that people need to pick up and go where the jobs are. After all, that’s why most of white America is here. They picked up and went where the jobs are.
Kevin is adopted, so it’s reasonable that he would make an extreme statement to make his point. He also goes on n to say that he’s sort of a squish on capital punishment. They were looking for a reason to fire him because of their readers who prefer to live in an echo chamber.

SO, why didn't he just say that and not women who have abortions should be hanged???

What does being adopted have to do with anything?
