This statement is essentially true, S; if one buys the current Progressive Narrative that the United States either is, or has ever been a Democracy (pure version). The US has NEVER been a 'Democracy'; it was designed via Constitutional Principle to NULLIFY/LIMIT Democracy under a Constitutional Republic. The Founders abhorred Democracy ("mob rule"), as well we should.
Democracy is no more virtuous or practical than the wisdom of the electorate. Take a good look at who is voting; many if not most of the Dem Base can not run their own life...so they now get power to run the lives of the successful people they envy?
Bottom line. There is a door on your house. A Border on our Nation. A limit on who can access your bank account. And formerly, on who could vote. For a good reason. This dog won't hunt...for long.

It's worth mentioning that at the time, the only folks who could vote were white, land-owning men and they STILL didn't believe in mob rule... AND THEY WERE THE 'MOB'.
