Not the more recent D governors by any means, Anne Richards and conservative don't belong in the same area code.

Really you would have to go back to at least Connally before you could say there were "conservative" democrats.

Unless by conservative you mean compared to today's nutcase democrats then you would be correct, but hell JFK is conservative compared to today's dems.
We were discussing almost 150 years of political history.

Connally, Smith and Briscoe all came from the conservative wing. Clements was the turning point. After him, White and Richards were from the liberal wing, but still had the advantage of the dominant, statewide machine and an electorate that had been programmed by their parents to see the GOP as Yankee carpetbaggers and their quislings.

Let’s take this article as true. What positive changes to Texas do you think this would bring? Please be specific.

Cruz just has an image problem, I love his policies and I think he’s great in the senate but it’s obvious many suburbanites don’t feel the same way

You are correct. I'll bet he only serves this additional term and then retires.

All that for the great big blue wave isn't that bad. Beto had his "vote straight democrat" signs everywhere. Dem voters were riled up more than ever and still didn't do too much.

We'll see what happens in 2020 when trump is on the ticket.

Well he does have a term limit bill he put out so this would technically be his last term. I see him running for prez in 2024 or governor potentially. But he would have to choose one or the other.

Not really a troll this time.

I do think Texas is one or two cycles away from going blue. But thank you for your kind words my friend!

I don't believe this. Does it hurt yes of course. They are turning blue due to illegal voting. This will be corrected at some point.

Your shock when Texas pro-prosperity, anti-illegal-immigration, pro-Trump Latinos vote Republican at historically high rates in 2020, bringing Republican candidates across the finish line:

Hispanics are projected to be the majority in Texas within 5 years. All legal immigrants, of course.

How about the Republicans find some of these and run them as candidates. Sort of put your money where your mouth is stuff.

George P Bush is being primed as either the next governor or senator. There is a specific reason he is the ONLY member of the bush family to cozy up to trump. He’s now best friends with Don Jr.

Im sure you are pushing the angle of him being half-Mexican.

I suggest you read up on his recent comments about "kids in cages" and "white nationalists," then perhaps revise your thoughts about him being a Trump BFF.

He said that stuff? Sometimes in politics you have to know your audience and then pander accordingly.

I’m pushing the angle of him being a Bush.

As for his comments about white nationalism and kids in cages like I said he’s a Bush.

He’s said a lot of positive things about what Trump is doing publicly as well. I was trying to assert the point that he wouldn’t even do that unless he has an angle.
