The thing about "unconditional' love is that it's got one condition. It's got to be a two-way street. Unless the father was a legitimate danger to others, there is no excuse for that kind of betrayal. It would take a bigger man than me to forgive something like that.

I think dad has had plenty of time to think about his son lol
You can love a child and not like them very much. He won't do anything about or with his son but will always be there if he needs him hoping he grows up one day to realize families are special things. My guess.
