Wait, I thought all British citizens have a right to health care?????

A TEENAGER told by the NHS he was not sick enough for a heart transplant went to the US for a second opinion — only to have emergency surgery there after doctors said he had heart failure.

Now his furious mum has called on the NHS to foot the £250,000 bill.

Bradley Harrison’s family initially raised £35,000 to fly him to Cleveland, Ohio, to get a second opinion on treatment without a transplant.

But doctors found that Bradley, 17, was suffering from heart failure.

His only option was surgery to replace a valve and repair another.

Mum Jaimie Eason, 42, of Shoreham, East Sussex, said: “The NHS let him get to such a critical condition and we had to operate to save his life.”

Kid was lucky to escape. If the NHS knew his plans, they would have forced him to stay at the hospital until he died.

Good thing for that kid Hillary didn't win, as we'd probably already have socialized medicine here and he'd be dead.

There is an incredible amount of money in transplants. Very profitable for all involved.

Socialized medicine. The humane and fair method where everyone except the elite receives extremely equally shitty healthcare with no say in the matter.

How in the frick does the NHS keep parents from sending their sick dying kids to the US for special treatment. Wasn’t there 2 recent cases of toddlers that weren’t allowed to travel?
How’s that possible?

Imagine what it's going to be like when DMV quality employees are making the decisions on our children's healthcare. Sadly, it's only a matter of time before Democrats get us there.

Control.

Their docs make a diagnosis and refuse to let someone get a second opinion outside their system.

Sounds like DHS misdiagnosed everything all around it they said he needed a transplant but wasn’t sick enough to have one yet.

Maybe replacing one valve and fixing the other is a permanent fix.

Healthcare has to be rationed. Who do you want doing that is the question?

A bunch of fed gov employees similar to SSA employees or the market?

I'll take the market and the forces that keep it honest over nothing keeping the gov honest.

It wouldn't surprise me if they throw the kid in jail when he returns to Britain for besmirching their wonderful NHS.

Anyone that wants socialized medicine is retarded. I love how the advocates for it think it will be free too.

Perhaps then you should be a donor and profit.

I'll never understand why anyone would want the Federal gov't to have control over their healthcare. It's mind boggling.

It would have been for his own good. Who knows the risks if he's allowed to live.
