Trump is just getting warmed up! Just wait when people get their DOGE checks and people making under $200,000 don't have to pay income tax. People will be ready to crown him King!

I’ll never understand Republicans cheering taxes.

Tax receipts do mirror GDP. How will the GDP be influenced by more in the US production? How will the tax revenue increase if our money stays within the country? Inquiring minds want to know.
Please dont let anyone gaslight you into ditching your common sense...which is totally correct in this case. Only lawyers and "economists" could concoct some reason why buying a product from your neighbor, who bought the materials to make the product from another neighbor...and so on, is inferior to buying a product from someone in another country(and sending your money there) who only can make it cheaper because of lack of regulations, quality control, and slave labor

The last tax cut was spearheaded by Donald Trump....the last one before that was 2 decades ago. Other than Trump, DC Republicans dont give a frick about cutting taxes

If MAGA shows up to vote in 2026, the Democrats will never win another election.
Once American manufacturing takes off (because of tariffs) and the 5B trade deficit that inherited turns into a 10b trade surplus AND Americans income taxes are lowered PLUS no tax on tips and OT, the economy will be fricking bonkers.
We still have to pay a price first for Biden printing all those fricking notes, that hasnt come home to roost yet, but it will be a speed bump and then we are so back baby.
All the while, democrats will be on the wrong side of another 90/10 issue and will be doubling down on going further to the left.
It’s beautiful.

He's probably not factoring in that we had a widened trade deficit in March because people were trying to get imports in ahead of the tariffs. If you compared only March to only April that would give you a very distorted view of the long term picture. Everyone knows this is true but you can bet instead of acknowledging it I'll be called a lib cuck by people that don't want to acknowledge this reality.
Instead of being a bitch, help us out. Give us the full picture. Post stats from March, February, January etc. Or March 25 vs. March 24 for comparison

I posted it on page one
It's a dynamic chart so I can't link the picture
Click the link and prepare to be disappointed

Lol all I asked for was some context

Now I would definitely question that their projections for 2025/2026 are basically the same as 2023-2024 despite the radically different environment that will exist when all these trade deals shake out.
Thanks for posting though , stuff like this informs the conversation imo instead of people just trying to oWn eAcH oThEr

I just find it odd that OP made these sensational claims with providing 0 numbers
What I said is clearly illustrated on the graph. Our trade deficits increased after Trump won the election as people were trying to get ahead of the tariffs. The 5 billion a day was temporary and if we are currently running a 1 billion dollar a day surplus that's probably also temporary. Sometimes we need to zoom out to see the real picture. At some point we'll likely resume a similar level of imports as we saw prior to Nov of 24. Only then when the dust settles will we have a clear zoomed out picture of what we're dealing with. Unfortunately with the lag in reporting we might not have this information until July or August.
This would be an interesting thread to bump once we have the official numbers

A 0% tax when the goods are manufactured here in the US.
Its like people forget the purpose.
WE WANT THE STUFF MADE HERE. MAKE IT HERE AND THERE IS 0% TARIFF.
