I dont know the numbers but I can guess why the decision was made.
Lets say you lease is 20 million a year and operating costs for power, maintenance, security, the skeleton crew you still have working there is another 5. Thats 25 annually and you lease runs another 8 years. Thats 200million total.
Looking at the net present value of that extra 90 million you could save by paying the 110mil and your return on invested capital, it makes good fiscal sense to buy out the lease.
So you "cut your losses", "ripped off the band aid", etc. However in good corporate spin I prefer to say.........
I didnt "lose" 110 million, I saved the company 90 million (less net present value calculations). Now where is my bonus

Ever since Target pulled the kiddie trans wear off the sales floor ( but still available & online as I understand it) the Left have turned on them.
