there must have been 5 or 6 mexican trains in the parking lot.

there's always at least one broken down and they're trying to patch the radiator or something else.

i pointed at them and asked the trooper if what they are doing is legal.

he said 'i'm going to shoot you straight. the THP is not authorized to process illegals. even if they are breaking the speed limit we let them go. they are all illegal; do not have a driver's license and unless there is a wreck or something major, we ignore them.'

he said 'we used to pull them over and report them to ICE who just told us to let them go so there's no point in stopping them.'

so TL;DR - enjoy stressing out about getting a ticket for a failed brake tag inspect, expired license tag, burned out light, going 11mph over the speed limit, improper lane usage you STUPID frickS.

we just pay taxes and follow the rules so we are the only ones who have to worry about our insurance going up for a speeding ticket or forgetting to renew your driver's license and getting a ticket for driving on an suspended license, etc.

meanwhile, these 'ghosts' can more freely about the country.

People I know in law enforcement, say this has been the approach for years.

you know what i mean.

we have the burden of making sure all of shite is up to date, vehicles are working and legal, obeying every traffic law including red light cameras that catch you running a yellow light..

but go ahead & post a stupid gif that you think invalidates all that.

The "Things that Never Happened" file is getting really full this week.

If someone who appears to be an illegal alien does something that would allow arrest of a citizen, the suspected illegal alien can also be arrested and/or jailed ... and then prosecuted under state law. Asserting otherwise is ill-informed.

On the other hand, if a person who appears to be an illegal alien is caught doing something that would NOT allow arrest of a citizen (but only a citation, for example), it is entirely possible that local law enforcement is not arresting him ... because there is not sufficient legal cause for an arrest. I would be rather surprised if LEOs are choosing to just not issue those citations, just because the driver has a Latino surname.

It is NOT the role of local/state law enforcement to arrest Jose Arredondo, for no more reason than them THINKING that Jose MIGHT not be a citizen.

Start off by calling the man a liar.

Thank you Captain Obvious. Care to address the fact that they probably do not have a valid drivers license now? You know, what the OP was talking about? Or the fact that the State Trooper told him they have attempted to enforce the same laws on the criminal illegals that they enforce daily on American citizens, only to be shut down by ICE?

Here's to hoping that it is YOUR neighborhood where they run a stop sign, or the brakes give out on one of the dilapidated lead cars towing several others (which a citizen would never get away with) and kills someone in YOUR neighborhood. Then you can bask in the glow of your superior intellect and accommodating nature as you bury a friend or loved one.

Aren't they just hauling broken down cars, that no one wants here in the US, back to Mexico?
They're not setting up shop here.

Sure. It looks like Tennessee law makes it rather difficult to arrest someone for not having a driver's license. As long as the individual gives a name and address to the officer, he just gets a citation.

As I said, I seriously doubt that this encounter ever happened.

Troy, why do you always react like a petulant toddler, when someone explains a law that you do not like?

I wish I had been afforded the same treatment when I got caught doing 91 there about 2 years ago.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge. But they are still driving on the roads, pulling an unsafe (at best) train of cars with a vehicle that is in no way designed to handle or more importantly stop the kind of weight they are pulling, right along with you and your family.

When you add the fact that almost none of them possess a valid US driver's license, the government allowing this practice makes chumps out of all of us who are fleeced via "taxation" for the same privileges.

When I lived in New Mexico, we had these trains through Alamogordo regularly, and they did cause problems.

The OP is 100% correct.

There are two sets of laws in this country. One for people who are citizens and another set for illegals.

Basically, illegals get to do whatever the F they want because they can't even write them a ticket or detain them since no LEO knows what to do with them with immigration laws being almost totally unenforced in this country.

Add to this the estimated cost per illegal to the US taxpayer is $30k per year. With them coming across by the hundreds of thousands you don't have to be good at math to see the problem here.

Those groups of raggedy cars and trucks you see hooked together on the interstate being towed back to Mexico.

Always loaded down with flea market and garage sale crap also.

Typically seen doing 60mph in the right lane headed toward the TX-MEX border.

You are the one hung up on arrest, Hanky. How about the costs to Americans for the privilege of driving? How about the cost of those citations to Americans, which criminal illegals aren't subject to?

From my knowledge of you here, I seriously doubt you are fit to question anyone's integrity.

You haven't explained anything, Hanky. You've pulled you typical shite, misdirecting and arguing points not in contention, so that you can act like you know something, feeding your massive ego. It is understandable that you don't appreciate the possible real world consequences of your leftist ideology and idiocy being illustrated in front of you. Most leftists reject reality and ignore the unintended consequences of their ignorance. Tough titty.

going 11mph over the speed limit,

Been stopped by a trooper once in my entire 30 years of driving, for going 69 in a 65 on open highway 40 miles from the nearest town, and got a $230 ticket. So to hell with those merciless Marine Corps wannabe egomaniacs.

They've only ever selectively applied their version of the law. Exact same trooper stopped my buddy the following week for doing 107 in a 45 on his motorcycle and gave him a written warning.

Cops hate me. Never broken the law in my adult life other than occasionally exceeding the speed limit by +/- 5mph, but I'm the guy who gets totally blasted on insignificant infractions.

Full disclosure, I don't complain too much about it because I think it's my karma for all the really, REALLY dumb and illegal shite I did as a minor and never got caught. What goes around, comes around.
