I think we can all agree the entire 20 year presence in Afghanistan has produced nothing but debt, death, grift and embarrassment. The corruption is so systemic it should piss off every American to no end. Hell, of the 4 POTUS presiding over this shite, only Trump and Biden have even given an undeniable stance to get the hell out. I'll give each one credit for that if nothing else.
To see career politicians like McConnell on one side or some old talking head òn the other pointing fingers is enraging. They're all complicit. All 535 fricking one. This country's leadership from every corner of Washington DC isn't worth a piss.

So I’ve been reading some articles tonight from Stars and Stripes? I guess it’s ex military that now cover the military for their site. Some real interesting things in their stories. Basically the taliban haven’t had to fire a bullet in many of these takeovers. Shocker I know but apparently Afghan people are very corrupt assuming because they are poor and the taliban just start offering them money to join their side and here we are. Basically when we announced we were pulling out locals wanted to be on the winning side and just joined them

I agree 100%. My issue is how the withdrawal has been handled worse than a fricking potato under the current admin.
Maybe Trump would have fricked it up just as bad. Maybe not. The fact remains it's Biden who owns this shite sandwich, and the sack of shite hasn't even been seen in public the entire weekend.

The US Ambassador to Afganistan is a worthless pussy. I didn't know until tonight that he took the first plane out of Kabul but the reason I found out he took the first plane out to save his own arse is because the Ambassador to Great Britain called him out for being a pussy since he is still in Kabul personally processing paperwork for the people fleeing.
What a total disgrace this guy is who will be the first to jump on MSNBC or CNN to claim it was everyone else's fault. No wonder the Afghan Gov't bolted what confidence in the US did they have when this guy abandoned the country at the first blink of an eye.

People in that country can't afford to be anything other than survivalists. We can fault the cowardly decisions of the Afghan Army. We can't fault the average civilian. They know resistance is futile for the most part. They've been going along to get along their entire existence.

Honestly, what we're watching unfold would've happened anyway. Ghani and his regime just don't care. His troops have no leadership and just want to live. Any withdrawal date would've rang the same dinner bell. And every dollar we've given them is gone like a fart in the wind. We'll get our citizens out without any casualties I think. I really believe that.
That country just wants to herd goats and have arranged marriages. They can have that dust bowl.

The only thing that could have, and should have, gone any differently was the drawdown of our diplomats and civilian personnel. There is no reason they should have been left holding the bag, and that becomes even more infuriating with every report of intel stating what we are seeing was a likely scenario, but was ignored.
