This. They have the country. Probably would like to get some of the Afghanis that helped the US, but damage outweighs benefit of not getting bombed.

This....they can say they effectively controlled their forces to allow the foreigners to safely depart.
Makes them look even more legitimate and competent compared to the AFG government.

To be honest, I didn’t think we had 4,000 embassy employees in China nevertheless Afghanistan.

Taliban forces just won the battle of their life. Would think the last they would want to do right now is attack US men and women on ground in Kabul. Retaliation would be swift and furious I would hope.

The reason the ANA laid down their arms is because
1. They are shitty soldiers. Anyone ever see the videos of us training them to do simple jumping jacks? Or see them run away at the first sign of gun fire? The writing was on the wall the guys on our side weren’t warriors.
2. They identify with the Taliban. Imagine the horror these people felt when America came in and told them women can vote. That women are equals. And then even more that gays and transsexuals are normal people. The ANA was still full of MUSLIMS. Their loyalty is to Allah. Not to Democracy. So they never really bought in to the idea of democracy 100%. And when they realized they were going to get slaughtered they jumped ship.
Going to fricking Afghanistan and flying a pride flag from our embassy told them all they need to know about America.
Embarrassing.

This is where I am. It was time for us to get out of this shite hole. But we didn’t need to leave thousands of our people behind as we lit the thing on fire on the way out. What a horrific embarrassment
I still can’t believe we had 10,000 American citizens there for this. What the frick? It’s seriously now on the table that more Americans are about to die in 2 weeks in Afghanistan than fighting in 20 years.

Fairly certain it is the most expensive and or biggest U.S. embassy construction project in history, seconded by Baghdad.

Can you imagine one of our trannies leading them in training?
Yeah, that shite isn't gonna fly over there.

I think that the Biden administration just dodged a massive bullet if the Taliban call off the dogs and let everyone in Kabul evacuated.

Bingo. That was the most tone-def response from the state department I've seen in forever.
Even the wokest of corporations knew better to kick that pride shite to the curb in Muslim countries.

Taliban are too smart to attack. Let us leave and they get the country back. They attack and it could get messy.
Hope you’re right. Osama Bin Laden wouldn’t give a frick about the consequences. He’d try to kill every last American and American helper. We’ll see if these ideologues are more restrained.

But process over results, man. They botched this and will be extremely lucky if all goes as well as possible.

It boggles my mind Biden hasn’t even bothered to return to the White House or address the nation. What a fricking coward. If he had a shred of decency or dignity he’d resign in disgrace.
He must be having one hell of a bad episode right now. How do they think it’s looking good for him not addressing the nation right now? He must be really, really bad if he’s not coming out. Next time we see him, it better be in resignation and Kamala to additionally turn in her two weeks just so we have enough time to appoint a different President. I’d take Bloomberg at this point for God’s sake.

You literally just voted for people that did more to increase the divide than possibly anyone else in the history of this country. This is exactly what you wanted. You’re just too much of a coward to admit it because you know how terrible it makes you look right now.
And to make it perfectly clear, let me reiterate: You should absolutely no longer be allowed to vote. You are very obviously not intelligent enough to have a say of any magnitude on how hundreds of millions of people are governed. You operate on feelings, not rational thought. You’re capable of voting for anything depending on how angry or “contrarian” you’re feeling that Election Day.

This MF'er just said it reminded him of January 6th except they (dems) fought back.
How long is this lie going to continue? If those people were armed and wanted to cause harm and destruction we probably wouldn’t be posting in this thread right now. Comparing Jan 6th to the situation currently underway in Afghanistan is beyond reason, but the people doing it can’t be reasoned with.

Yeah if they slaughter 10k Americans at the airport, we should just nuke the country on our way out like we should have done after 9/11. Time to get the hell out of all these foreign entanglements, but carry a hell of a big stick from the air if anyone decides to mess with us. We don’t need oil from anyone else now so way past time to GTFO and make other nations pay for regional security. Afghans, as a whole, deserve the brutality that the Taliban is going to give them. Hopefully the few decent ones are on flights out of Kabul by now...

I agree. Only problem is the line of succession is clear. This is who’s third on line if Biden & Harris were to step down.
