The Talban has taken a u-turn on General Amnesty; they are now Blacklisting all government employees who worked for previous Ghani government and will not let them board any flights out of Kabul Airport.

Like it or not, she's going to be the next president and corporate media will 1000% shield her

I desperately want her to be President ASAP because:

A) She doesn’t have dementia
B) She is entirely loathesome so no matter how the media cover her, they won’t be able to hide who she is.

The UK and Germany openly lobbying Biden and the US to stay past Aug. 31. Overnight last night (their day) there was a firefight that killed one Afghan soldier and wounded three. That lead to the airport being closed. There was also a fire at the airport.

The UK is pulling out everyone tomorrow. They will officially be out of Afghanistan and the US troops will have to pick up the loss of manpower.

They are setting this up to look like they forced us out and we tucked tail and ran.

They want to show that they stood up to the US and won.

Wow. Thanks. I’m trying to go back and read some articles for details…

ISIS threat - specific or general? There or here?

I could have dreamed this but didn’t we deploy up to 6000 troops (maybe total there)?

Per the Pentagon it is a viable and real threat to the Kabul airport and the people trying to get to it.

Isis and al quada are mortal enemies. My understanding is you can’t have both, one will kill off the other

That's true. However, that doesn't seem to matter in Biden's Kabul.

They announced it over the weekend and it was reiterated in both the Independent, The Sun, and the Daily Mail this morning.

According to CNN, our State Department is requesting that Afghan SIVs do not come to the airport.

I believe that could be a play to pressure Biden to commit to staying beyond the August 31 deadline. Everything prior to that had been that the UK was the country lobbying the strongest for US troops to stay past the deadline.

And there it is:

@kylieatwood (correspondent for CNN, CBS, Etc.)
quote:

A sr State Dept official says that whatever the deadline is for the military to leave Afghanistan, the US will not stop efforts to bring out Afghans who want to leave. Says the Taliban agreement to permit safe passage to the airport "doesn't have an expiration date on it."
