No they haven't. Two different weapons. The M240 is 7.62mm, the replacement for the M60. The M249, known as the Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) is 5.56mm.

They didnt replace the 240, they replaced some of the SAW/249 with IAR/M27.
They went from a belt fed open bolt to a M16 style to make the load lighter.

Come on man, those adults know the gravity of the situation. Would you be smiling if jihadists were taking over your country? There are good Afghans and I hope they get to safety and help retake their country some day (internally without a US ground presence). If they want it bad enough they can overthrow the Taliban.

There are plenty of people at the airport, just not necessarily the ones we originally agreed to take. I believe the gates were closed yesterday because the inside of the airport was full and conditions inside were degrading.
I do question the numbers though and for good reason. Why would we believe anything this administration says after this last week?

This is worse. This is like scoring in the single digits on a multiple choice test. You’d think the law of averages would mean you should at worst make a 25 on the test. It’s genuinely impressive how much they fricked this up that you start to question if it was intentional.
