40 years ago these same guys were our allies against the Russians, they could always fight a Guerrilla style war, they learn to shot an AR-15 a same age we are riding a bike, they are the damn Mountain Apache of the Middle East. We taught them to use modern weapons, organize, plan etc. Russians finally had enough after we started supplying them with Rocket launchers.
After Russians left they were ok for a few years then Taliban funded completely by the Saudis of course too over, and we all know the rest.
But a lot of Taliban were not happy with Al Quada being there, but with Saudis being their main bankers/backers really no choice.
A significant portion of Taliban would rather just do their shite and be left alone, grow their poppy’s, screw little boys and girls etc like they have done for 1000s of years and don’t give a shite about Global crap, maybe a majority of them. They always pay a heavy price in every conflict there.
They really don’t trust outsiders, even other Sunni Muslims like the Saudis and Pakistanis, and Americans, Russians, Chinese, give me a break. But they will take all the money goods etc u will give them and play one side off another, all day and twice on Sunday that’s their nature, and their are highly skilled at it.
Significant portion of them live in little block houses in little villages without AC, in areas that are hot as hell in summer and like Siberia in the winter, just doing enough to survive. (It’s a living hell.) So what are you really going to threaten them with, no cable?
The county is a deceptively beautiful shite hole. People are friendly. You can get sucked in, but it’s a trap. It’s been a trap for 1000s of years.
Let them go, and be someone else problem for what have spent we could have bought the damn country 20 times over.
Secretly invite a few commanders over, and show them our “real weapon systems ” and introduce them to some of stealth allies. They will never want anything to do with us ever and will not screw with us ever

We're allowing barbarians to call the shots here because our President* doesn't know what planet he's on.
