Kabul may just be a reverse Chosin. Why put more American lives into danger?

From what I've read, of the original three battalions one of the Marine battalions has organic lift capability. the other Marine battalion and the Army battalion don't. I haven't seen anything about the 82nd brigade bringing any aviation assets. I hope they do or it will be pretty dicey. Also, I'm wondering about in-theater close air support. They-re going to need on-call assets overhead 24/7. That's hard to do with carrier aircraft flying two hours each way to get there.

That's the thing. Kabul isn't anywhere close to naval assets so they aren't going to be able to fly people out on copters like they did Saigon.
