It’s just a tricky situation that aircraft and other technology have created in regards to these massive ships. They cost a fortune and take years to build and can now be destroyed by aircraft that costs a small fraction of the costs. Dan Carlin discusses it in one of his podcasts on the war in the Pacific

China literally the new Nazi Germany and everyone turning a blind eye. Already has concentration camps setup throughout the country to curb the Uighurs. Basically has invaded Africa except with money and corruption instead of tanks. And now might actually start invading neighboring territories.

Carriers just need to get close enough to launch their aircraft. Destroyers, frigates, submarines protect the carrier. Submarines can get in undetected to conduct reconnaissance and launch tomahawks if needed... or torpedoes.

Just read the Taliban leader that planned the take over of Kabul was released from GITMO by Obama in 2014 in exchange for Bergdahl.

Looks like we have a tanker over Afghanistan tonight.
I wonder if that means we now have fighters on station over Afghanistan in case they need air support for ground forces.
Wouldn’t think they would be aerial refueling transport planes.

I don’t think it was the leader, but one of the men with him in the presidential palace. I think the leader was released by the Trump admin, but someone else can correct if that is wrong.
