I know many of you are believers. just adding to the conversation.

How anyone can claim to be Christian and believe this is insane. It goes against everything Christianity is based upon. These folks are going straight to hell unless they repent and totally change their beliefs and ways. Unfortunately the arrogance the left displays I do not see them being able to swallow their pride and admitting they are wrong. This is wrong on an immeasurable scale.

One minute, she's saying that there's no way to know if Jesus actually existed (though there are sources outside the New Testament who confirm He did), then just a minute later she's talking about how He was killed by the Romans and didn't die on the cross for our sins.

I don't get it. If you don't believe the most fundemental, foundational facts about Christ, then why did you go through the steps to become a minister?

I don't wish harm on anybody, but once, just once, I wish God would go Old Testament on some of these blasphemers and false prophets. They insult Christianity every time they open their mouth.

Denying Christ’s atoning work and even His existence. That is no gospel, and that’s no church of Jesus Christ. May God be glorified in the destruction of those who lead others astray like that.

I can't speak for the person or what their reasons are.

But I do not consider myself a Christian for the same reasons.

I do not think the death of Jesus saves anyone, I think his life and his example saves. That you must keep the commandments and if you believe in Jesus, that's what you'll do. I do not at all believe in the blood sacrifice.

If he existed or not doesn't really matter to me as a result. What I do know is that Jesus is telling the truth that the father is in him because I recognize the father in him. Even if it's just a story I know the understanding being expressed(which I think is much different than what Christians think).

More likely is that a version of Jesus did exist, but much of what is said about him isn't exactly true. For example the walking on water is a reference to the sun. And that you need to be perfectly calm to be a mirror reflection of it. And that Jesus, with the father being in him, was a perfect reflection of the father.

These are ancient metaphors that predate Jesus. And the holidays of Christianity are pagan holidays that were added to bring in Pagans to unite everyone in the Roman empire.

It's called syncretism.

And any Rabbi would likely tell you the translation isn't "virgin" for the Virgin Mary, it's actually "young woman". This is again another ancient pagan myth that God(s) have children with humans. Because nobody can confirm if she is a virgin or not anyway, and it's not a sign if you can't see it. But you can see young woman, and she still fits that description.

But that whole concept is an archetype deeply embedded in ancient Mediterranean cultures long before Jesus/Christianity. AKA Pagan.

That said, I do agree with your assessment, though. This woman is about as much a Christian as a reptile is a mammal.
