Non factor if they are pulling out of Syria. This effects Iran and their ability to transfer weapons to their proxies. It will also turn Syria into a terrorist haven.

Y'all have to make up your minds. Do we support or not support foreign wars?

If Ukraine isn't our problem, then neither is Syria. If Trump is who you say he is, he will let Turkey manage this and walk away from the fallout.

If walking away means we just pay no attention to anything or what any country is doing in Syria is well...plain dumb. I want assets in country to keep relevant info always flowing

We need to get to that Russian naval base there and raze it to the ground, including all docking and ship maintenance facilities.

This is a problem for Putin. He loses any exposure to the Med.

Problem for US and Israel as well.

Yes because someone asked me what the end game of this was. The endgame is a power grab by Turkey. In case, you are unaware the inhabitants of Persia (Iran) and Anatolia (Turkey) have been playing a power game in that region since the time of Mosses. The inhabitants of Anatolia (Turkey) and what is now Ukraine, Russia, and Georgia have been playing a power game since the Greeks started colonizing the Black Sea.

With a stupid post about Russia using an IRBM to target pipelines in Turkey and/Syria. Which is stupid because why would Russia use a nuclear weapon to take out a pipeline? Especially if Russia is turning away from Europe.

quote:

Syria no longer has the importance it once had to Russia 10 years ago because Russia signed a 30 year energy deal with China.

How stupid are you? Do you understand basic math? The Russia-China gas deal will send 38 billion cubic meters (bpm) per year China. In 2021, Russia sent 150.2 billion cubic meters (bpm) to Europe. Russi still sent 42.9 bcm to Europe in 2023. That means Russia has lost 107.3 bcm of natural gas sales. That new deal that you are so happy about will only replace about 35% of Russia's lost gas sales to Europe.

If you were not an idiot who only believes what the FSB tells him you would realize that you are spewing diarrhea out of both sides of your mouth. In addition to being shitty, your arguments also contradict each other.

Russia losing one of its most important military assets is a "non factor"?

How?

Non factor? It is Russia's only ice free base with access to the Mediterranean. If that was a nonfactor then why has Russia and the USSR before it had a base their since 1971?

Unfortunately you are probably correct about that.

Technically, you can reach the Med from the the Black Sea port in Crimea

Ole JB is exposing himself again on Russia-related issues. Unless he's been spoonfed something, he is completely ignorant. A total NPC.

He did this a few days ago asserting Zelensky had something to do with the 2014 "coup" in Ukraine (GumboPot made this mistake earlier today, too)

Oreshnik is not a nuclear weapon. It can have conventional war heads

You are dumber than I thought. Lots have changed since 2021 like us blowing up Nordstream and Europe getting LNG from us. Europe is not getting gas from Russia regardless of what happens in Syria. Russia has turned to China. As China takes market share from multiple industries from Europe they are going to need more natural gas from Russia. That is why it makes no sense for them to be in Syria anymore
