SAA has been a corpse propped up by Iran and Russia. The past few years more and more support has vanished as Russia invaded Ukraine and Iran is dealing with Israel.
The writing was on the wall that they were left alone against the rebel groups that have been protected by Turkey. No use in getting summarily executed after fighting for a dead man walking in Assad.
The slightest bit of pressure broke them. It’s been largely bloodless.

Most reports say that he sent his family to Moscow yesterday. Those reports could be mistaken because it’s a fluid situation but that’s what I am seeing.
