Correct. It's perfectly reasonable that she's saying "I do not think it's a good idea, but if called upon I'll do my duty to vote." And simply "vote her conscience" if there really is such a thing.

I will say Collins did offer one of the most stirring defenses of Constitutional responsibility and fairness in voting for Kavanaugh’s confirmation so I am optimistic she is a “Yes” once Trump nominates someone.

I just wrote the RNC to make them aware I will not be providing any further material support unless they condemn and withold funding from any Senator unwilling to carry out their legitimate function in the government while Dems threaten violence.

Which furthers the point that it makes no sense for her to even float the idea that we should wait til after the election.

WHY?

There is going to be a qualified person in front of you too vote on. The only reason not to is you're a piece of shite.

We can lose three. Let Collins and Murkowski do their pandering.

Am I the only one who thinks this is her making the announcement to start the bidding for her vote?

She is in a tight re-election. She will see what her constituencies say. She is pragmatic, AKA wishy washy.

However she stood firm on Kavanaugh after getting pelted by women on social media and even face to face confrontations in DC.

She may change her mind if her constituents push her. I think her tight race is due to voting to confirm Kavanaugh. They are pretty liberal in Maine.

When RBG does Collins lost - she was fricked no matter what. She now chose not to help her party.

She said "I do not believe the Senate should vote on the nominee before the election.

She has no control over when the vote will be held. If she vote is held before the election and she votes present, she is finished. She knows that.

Saying it would take the steam off her virtue signal.

She was so indignant about what was done to Kavanaugh. Does this bitch really think that these same jackals wouldn't get their guy in if the tables were turned?

Well no, she didn't say exactly what I said, that's my interpretation of what her "bottom line" is. She gave her opinion on how it should be handled, but in no way intimates that she would refrain from participating in the vote even if pre-election.
