Did y’all read her statement? She basically said she had no issue with Trump nominating someone to the Supreme Court right now but she would rather wait til after.

Didn’t seem like she wouldn’t vote or actually opposed it

She's trying to save her re election chances. Mitch probably gave her the go ahead to say that if he has the votes elsewhere

"Primary her"

... and get who? She is one of the few GOPers left in the NE and having a GOPers there who votes right most of the time is better than a DEM who votes Left all of the time.

this has nothing to do with her being a woman. it has to do with her being a democrat like Romney.

That is a foolish statement. With your way, it would be VERY likely the DEMs would take control of the Senate. The Senate GOPers are mostly RINOs. That is why we still have O'care.

honestly, she's in a tough spot regardless. They bring it to a vote and she potentially loses votes either way. It is best for her to hold off on the vote.

Yeah, her specific words are only that she opposes it, not that she would abstain if called upon.

But how fricking asinine her suggestion is. To go ahead and expend the tine and resources on the hearings and associated matters, yet at the same time broadcast the sentiment that "but we're not actually sure you'll be the one we eventually vote on maam. Or sir." If there were no vote til after election, then there should be no hearing/investigation until the same timeframe. Sheesh. She should just come out and say she was just joking around with that suggestion.

"It's too late. It's either her or the democrat this election cycle. "

Exactly ... and her vote won;t matter, they just need 50 + Mike Pence to win.

Naw, they need tally of 50 for each side. Then Pence would come into play. This scenario is a problem because it's not likely. Amirite? Or amiwrong? I could be wrong. I'll admit it. Doesn't feel wrong tho.

**So if there is even one abstention then 50/50 tie is not possible.

This is Collins opponent Sara Gideon. IWHI

I’m willing to trade a sub human swamp creature like Collins for this. I know she’s a Democrat, but it’s time to get rid of these fake moderates. I hope Collins loses

"Then abstain. No way she votes NO."

if they vote before the election, yes she can and likely will vote no. I don't know why this is so hard to understand.

In Maine you either get a non-conservative GOPer, or a doofus like this
LINK

who is an I and votes with DEMs, or you get a Collins who votes mostly with GOP.

Susan Collins is gonna lose on Nov 3 no matter what she does. So is Cory Gardiner in Colorado and Martha McSally in Arizona.

Just wait, the Fed Govt will be closed down before any vote on a RBG replacement can come up. For once, the Dems in Congress are going to show some backbone instead of caving to Repubs like they usually do.

So then what Collins should actually be saying, instead of insinuating that "heck y'all, it's possible this President won't even be the President anymore" she should be saying "heck y'all, I may not even be a Senator anymore, we need to see what happens with me."

So the election will have to be postponed. Can’t have a federal election if the federal government is shut down.

Opposing a vote does not mean that she would vote no if a vote were to be held.
