Nothing, it is not required to run for President. There is no requirement to do it.

EVERY president before Nixon did not release their tax returns.

if it's no big deal then why are the D's trying to get them? They are just wasting taxpayer $$$ to get yet another nothing-burger.
There is no law stating that he has to release them.
I'm 100% positive that if the IRS has any question at all about his tax returns, they would have leaked it out by now.

OK, prior to Trump, I think Ford was the exception but we did not elect Ford.

So from Nixon to Obama you have 1 unelected exception.

Even the VP Pence has released 10 years of returns.

How did Rachel Maddow get Trump's tax returns she thought would be a bombshell?... Until she saw he paid more in taxes than Obama and gave more to charity. An SEIU tax worker gave it to a friend who gave it to a dem which is the same thing as a MSNBC reporter.

Trump has the grit and money for lawyers (or let DOJ over paid govt lawyers earn their salaries) to piss them off with this; as it is not a requirement to become POTUS.

If there was anything nefarious in Trump's tax returns Rachel Maddow would have got the leak 3.5 years ago.

It is not required by law. Simple as that. They did it voluntarily. If he doesn't want to do it, they can pound sand because it is not one of those pesky requirements to run for the office. End of story. It isn't required so any court forcing him to release the records is clearly legislating from the bench.

Funny how you state free society then demand Trump do something which was not required by law. Nice touch.

Those people choose to release their tax return, he chooses not to. That is his prerogative.

It doesn't matter. I care for Trump's tax returns like a care for Obama's. I didn't and I don't.

Immigration.
Judges.
Taxes.
Trade.
Foreign Policy.
Regulations (or lack of).

Those are the issues I care about and those issues align with Trump's stated policy positions.

Tax returns? Not so much. I just don't care about tax returns.

But I do care about the witch-hunt Dems trying to use his tax returns as a tool to hurt Trump and subsequently hurt the policy positions I care about.

Who are you referring to?
I hope not the guy/emperor who seemingly has been impeached since he took office.

Okay 7 out of 45 presidents have released their tax returns. Congratulations to them? They get brownie points.

Is the status of tax returns the determining factor if a president gets treated like a monarch or not?

This isn't correct.

What does this have to do with Tax returns? How is failing to turn in your returns being "treated like a monarch"?

I make between 24K and 36K a year so not a big deal especially as I own no business that would be a conflict of interest with a government job.

So, you fall in to the category of people who wouldn't know what the frick you were looking at if Trump handed you his tax returns tomorrow and you had an accountant sitting next to you to help you understand.........

I am way older than you as I am retired and not working anymore. In my peak years minimum wage was just over 1 dollar per hour. It is broke dicks like myself that worked for peanuts so you can have the wages you do today.

Fishing expeditions

A POTUS who receives income from government sources to create personal wealth is more than just a fishing expedition. To not investigate this (by either party in the White House) is BS. If I had to work all my life and tow the IRS line, should the POTUS face any less scrutiny?

Personally, I am not limiting it to just the POTUS and would extend it to both parties in both houses of Congress. If you really want to drain the swamp you need to do it across the board. If we have a POTUS and Congress who do not actually represent their constituency I would like to know about it!

How can a Senator making 150K to 250K per annum and no family money or outside job be worth 50 to 100 million dollars? It just does not add up.
