Or later. Can't capture enough seats in the next Presidential term.

quote:

Assuming Republicans lose the seats where prediction markets have the Democrats at 90+% to win, that would produce 55 Democrat Senate seats.

Chance of confirming a worthy successor to Justice Thomas and/or Alito during President Trump’s term: Zero.

Chance of confirming a worthy successor during a hypothetical GOP admin 2029-2033: probably zero (GOP won’t be able to recapture enough seats in 28).

The consequences of invading Iran on behalf of Israel will be felt for decades. It’s possible the Republican Party never recovers from that self inflicted blunder.

I’m not sure where the party goes from here, but the first step has to be away from Israel.

Trump screwed us so bad. He had a chance, and went a ridiculous path.

Alto and Thomas have had 4 years under a Trump GOP trifecta to retire and ensure a replacement.

Think about it. It’s not going to matter if they retire or not now. The Dems are just going to pack the court. Their rulings will be worthless. There are a LOT more consequences to this than people understand. The Dems have already told everyone that they will do WHATEVER is necessary to destroy our system of government and keep them in power. They aren’t going to let the SC, the Constitution, Law, or the President get in the way of their goal to subjugate the citizenry.

I'm hoping they aren't dumb enough to try this.

Good to know tards are still around. Been around since 2010 and have been a far right social conservative the whole time. It is a sin to vote for democrats imo. But go ahead and believe what you need to not cope with reality. Trump sucks

Marxists got a huge mandate.

It's game over.

Trump a fly thats been buzzing around the house for 11-years now and daddy just got home from Dollar store with a fly swatter.

A Trump ain't gonna be allowed to happen again, now or in the future.

So godspeed.

Gonna be wild to watch this play out.

Letting a Supreme Court seat go unfilled for four years, or even two, would be pretty ridiculous. It would just lead to a cycle where the opposing party blocked a President's nominees forever until they retook the White House. Hell, the Supreme court itself might step in and usher some type of activist ruling on that.

Now, there's precedent for holding a seat open until an impending election - Garland - but you can't just stall out an entire term.

Same with packing. Democrats add five, so Republicans add 10, so Democrats add 20... it's absurd.

Yep. They managed to hold the line for 2-years.

They told us that was their plan, and they in fact executed it to perfection.

McConnell held that seat open for 293 days. Record begging to be broken now if Alito or Thomas goes.

Trump and most Republicans don't think long term. They don't care what happens to this country once they're out of office.
