"The Establishment" and swore a life on non-conformity as opposed to being a slave to wages and working for the man.
I'd love to know how many of them wound up in white collar jobs and are now retired living off their investments and pension money from "the man".
Although this current wave of oddballs are WAY more delusional and have some serious issues with mental health thrown in----it may take a while longer to come back around to the norm. Those that don't will likely off themselves for their stupid choices or fall into the cracks and become the future homeless with alcohol, drug and even more mental issues.

That is an extremely poor interpretation.
Firstly, the text doesn’t say “die spiritually”. And they had a word for “spirit”. The Hebrew is transliterated as “ruach” and Greek as “pneuma”. So by saying Adam “died spiritually” you are inserting language, which the scribes could have used but didn’t, that wasn’t there, and are attempting to change the plain meaning of the text.
Secondly, no thought is given to what spirit actually was. The ancient people didn’t understand that air was matter. They had no concept of oxygen. They thought moving air like wind was supernatural - the spirit of god. Breathing was inhaling the spirit of god, the breath of life. Do you say “bless you” when someone sneezes? The ancients thought when someone sneezes, the breath of life temporarily leaves their body. Saying “bless you” is a magic enchantment that was thought to save their life. When someone gave up the Ruach, the pneuma, the spirit, they physically died. When Jesus “gave up the spirit” or “gave up the ghost”, he physically died (according to the myth). The spirit was tied to the life - saying someone died spiritually is redundant… if the spirit died, they died physically.
Face it, God told Adam he would die that very day he ate the fruit. He then lived for 900 years. God lied.

Adam died spiritually as symbolized by their nakedness and need for a covering obtained through blood. God exchanged their inadequate coverings with coverings of animal skins. This is the picture of the removal of sin through the shedding of blood, which was ultimately fulfilled by Jesus Christ.
