Starting to sink in that the country is lost

Half the population has zero desire to contribute or improve their situation. They possess no valuable skills other to make babies that also will never contribute to society.
The other half is being taxed to death by a bloated illegal government that openly hates them and wants the non-contributing half to take up arms and drop them.
It’s going to be a long difficult road to take this country back.. if we ever do. The best thing I can think of is just trust in God, pay attention and care for your individual communities, and do the best you can.

If many have the same mindset as me, and are holding hope for midterms, and it it stays left, I’m heavily considering going off grid. frick continuing to pay taxes toward an illegitimate government that hates me.

This is so true, and the ironic part is, this half of the population NEEDS us in order to survive. Yet, they openly express their disdain for us and want us gone. Wonder what would happen to them without our tax money coming in??

Did you see the new tax rates? Let's say you are married, two kids (is that a crazy assumption? A lot of people are married with two kids) and you and your partner make 120,000 a year.
First off with the automatic deductions you will get 30,000 a year knocked off. Actually I think it is more but I am not going to look it up.
So that brings you down to 90,000k. And you might have other breaks too (for example if you are blind, etc.), but you know what lets keep it super simple. Your federal taxes - on 120,000 - after the breaks will be just over ten thousand dollars.

I would not say that is overtaxed and yes I know there are social security and medical taxes too, but you get that money back when you get old.

99 percent of the world wishes they lived in America. Half the damn world still doesn't have running water. Even less has air conditioning, big cars, 200 TV channels and the internet you are on right now, probably in comfortable conditions, I assume you are not a homeless person at the local library reading this for example.

Even if the Repubs take both houses, it means shite... Potato is still in office and holds the veto card.
Yes, it will slow/stop the spiral of more shite legislation, but when its still this bad in 2yrs because of the stalemate, the repubs will be voted out in 2024 when Desantis or Trump take over and we will be back to a stalemate on the otherside.
The repubs need to manage expectations when they win that its a stop gap and not a change in policy.

Only 42% of households pay federal income tax.
Tax brackets are being adjusted for inflation but high earners are going to get a bigger chunk off. With Trumps tax cuts it was low earners that were helped the most.

The best path forward is we lose petro dollar status, which leads to default on debt, which leads to peaceful secession. We’ll create a military alliance but have several smaller independent nations with our own laws and currencies.
