Damn you mad As for the OP, at least the elderly are notoriously capable of traveling to and from places. Seems like a great plan
I’m guessing a lot of the 150 year old plus crowd will not be able to make that trip. But thank goodness we have people like you that can speak for these really old people

Sounds like the world's oldest person is gonna be dethroned soon

Look how pissed Nawlins is already. Wonder how many check he and his cohorts stand to lose.

Logic dictates this is something that should have been protocol.

SS Administration to require in-person identity checks for new and existing recipients

SS Administration will require in-person or online identity checks for new and existing recipients. It will no longer allow confirmation by phone.

And fraudsters notoriously would bail on in person verification.
What percentage of fraudsters have we found?

It’s easy to make an appointment with the nearest SSA Office. Not a long wait at all. Any of your documentation required by them can easily be uploaded to your account well ahead of your appointment. Not a bad process at all.

So you don’t have a solution, just here to bitch and complain. I guess bitching and complaining are what transvestites do the best, other than committing acts of violence

The 250y/o's on SS rolls would have been >100yrs old before the car was even invented. So they'd only be comfortable getting around with a horse and buggy, and those are indeed quite slow getting place to place.
We all need to be more thoughtful about such things.

When they spoke of the separation of rich and poor they always meant by everyone’s own hand.
People who have been stealing will be lose their take and it will be almost impossible to make up that money anywhere else. Those people spend freely and wildly as it’s not their money. On the other hand the smart and honest will continue to collect checks and because they have been balanced and lived within their means, will be just fine.

I hope the wait times aren't excessive. I've been through that already. It's the government so you know.

If they can get a new bank account and necessitate a new direct deposit authorization then they should be able to use the online identity verification or get to a SSA office.

The plan as laid out would be ok if they weren’t shuttering actual locations all across the country. This will be a clusterfrick.

Is it your belief that the elderly have an easy time with mobility and transportation?
A simple yes or no will do, spare the diatribe.
My parents, both in their middle 80's, still drive and travel today. Imagine what someone in their 60's can do.
So yeah...many, many of the "elderly" can get about.

I ams sure they haven’t cut staffing to that agency in a way that would make this like going to a DMV from hell
You need to read a little harder, and I suspect that most will fall victim to not paying attention to the first part I quoted.
ID verification through their site isn't hard. Occasionally I'll get a question about a place I lived 20 years ago, but kids and grandkids can help out. It's not hard.
