I can see a market for little heat sources that can be attached to the thermostat.

Spain's New Air Conditioning Law Is Insane

quote:

A debate has been sparked after Spain's government moved to prevent offices, shops and other venues from setting air conditioning below 27°C in the summer.

It is part of plans to cut the country's energy consumption and limit dependency on Russian gas.

This won’t last long. By the way, what about government buildings with politicians inside them?

It's the logical consequence of the policies they've pursued.

Good for them.

Also, a reminder, progressives here want us to be more like Europe.

Are they cutting of government cars and airplanes? Get on the bus, Gustavo. Europe has excellent mass transit, and the leaders should lead by giving up the same things they are asking others too.

A rules for thee, but none for me situation should be met with terminal velocity.

As someone who's been asked to layoff the AC to "conserve energy" several times recently, I can tell you this will not go well. Nobody is doing that shite.

I keeps my a/c at 80 and am conservative. I also grew up in a house with a attic fan and one room with a window unit. Call me old fashioned.

80.6 fahrenheit. It is as hot and humid in Spain as it is here.

This is ridiculous. You end up cranking on fans using more energy. Even in energy efficient homes.

So this is 80ish degrees. Apparently 77 is the sweet spot for an office setting.

My job locked the thermostat in my office on 74. The problem was it was 65 on the left side of the hall and 80 on the right. Unfortunately, I was on the right. I bought a lamp put a 100 watt light bulb in it and put it under the thermostat.

It was 68 in my office.

The temperature of Heaven.
