Has your doctor ever asked if you own or have any guns in the house?

It’s so nuts to me that you have to have a prescription for Hydrocloroquine (for example) - a medication that is incidentally OTC in some countries and has been used for 75 yrs, but anyone can just walk into any pharmacy and get advance treatment with an experimental drug that they may not even need.
Especially since vaccines can permanently alter how the immune system functions while prescription meds are only temporary and can be ceased if adverse effects occur.

My parents are 78 years old and just saw a new doctor. He told them they did not need the vaccine as they both have natural immunity.

I guess - but why does the state government need that info - as opposed to say - my doctor

Your doctor probably verified it on the database and then entered it into the EMR. Depending on what EMR your doctor uses then it is really easy. If your doctor uses EPIC like my clinic does then I just have to click one button.

State health department have kept vaccine databases for decades. It is not a new thing with COVID. Why does the state government do it? I do not know, but the state health departments are the proper place to keep it. Prior to EMRs trying to keep up with vaccine records is a nightmare. Even with EMRs it would be a nightmare if there was not a central database it would be a clusterfu**k. It is an ease of access thing and organization thing. There are also databases that we access to see when, where, and if a patient filled a prescription. Of course all of those databases are encrypted and monitored and the information they contain is still subject to HIPPA. Anyone who accesses them has to give a reason for accessing the record, and has to have your consent (direct or implied) or a warrant. So it is not like Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, or JBE or a police officer can access your vaccine records.

I've only had one doctor ask me this, and they had no business asking me anyway. Dang foot doctor for crying out loud.

Every state has a vaccine database that is easily accessible. It takes less time to look up records in the vaccine database than it does for most patients to find their documents.

I call bull shite.

Unfortunately, there is no national organization that maintains vaccination records. The CDC does not have this information. The records that exist are the ones you or your parents were given when the vaccines were administered and the ones in the medical record of the doctor or clinic where the vaccines were given.

State health departments are not a national organization.

Easily means I should at least be able to find the database.

Did you try searching by state? Literally type in a state name and then type vaccine database and you will find the database. You cannot access it unless you have an account, but you can at least find it. Here are a few examples and all were the first or second links on google during my search.

Heck, my PCP tells me to take off the mask after he enters the room and closes the door. The medical group he is now associated with requires masks in their buildings. That doesn't really get followed.

SPOILER ALERT: they can see your vaccination status in your electronic health record.

If this damn thing worked, your doc would write a prescription for it at least.

I got the Moderna booster yesterday and am now running a fever and feel like crap. The vaccine is doing something to me but I don't know if I like it. Actually it is likely confirmation I have Covid antibodies. No issues with the two part vaccination though.
I understand the politics part. Just remember the process has been the same since they invented the stuff.

Have they ever requested proof of surgeries you've had in the past? Proof of current medications you're taking?

Well since they have a record of those surgeries (or just look at the scars) and wrote the prescriptions (which show up in blood tests) there is no need.

I get what OP is saying, but at the same time, aren't they required to try and treat you anyway regardless?

True story:

go to cardiologist...asks if I got the shots.... tell him no, worried about myocarditits, etc. He says he has seen worse cases from Covid. Not sure that is true since he is not an "on call" cardiologist so he would not be seeing this in the hospital and the practice is so busy it is unlikely he is getting a huge number of new patients.

Anyway, get the first phizer shot and low and behold, get a cardiac reaction. Look up the issue and...again, surprise, surprise..phizer has a frickin study on that issue with those complications.

So, no frickin way I get 2nd shot or any follow up.

I will live or die from catching covid with whatever I can scrounge up not related to that vax.

As for doctors asking...every time I go to an appointment and check in, the office asks.

Do you not find it awful that the government is pushing a health care decision, not our doctors?

I can check my list of medications on MyChart, and it’s reviewed every time I go to the doctor - with at the very least the nurse that takes my blood pressure or whatever- but nobody reviews the vax.

If this is so important to my health, you would think that this would be something verified by my doctor, not a waitress

The more time that has passed, I've made some observations about "THE SHOT".

One, it should have been called the COVID shot, not the COVID vaccine. Much like the Flu shot, it could lessen your chance to catch COVID, but is not 100% effective to keep you from getting COVID. IF it was at 100% it would be a vaccine. But it's a VIRUS, not a disease.

Even after my vaccination, and having a card, I've not been asked to produce proof even once or asked if I was.

Which leads me to my conclusion. It has become painfully obvious the term vaccine was not used by the Government by accident. This was an experiment for them to test the waters of compliance among the masses to see how many would be willing, who would resist, and how willing the compliant would side and stand beside the government when it became time to choose.

Aaron Rodgers was 1000% within his Rights to do what he did. Funny how HIPPA doesn't ever get thrown out during these COVID times. Your body, your decision. Take care of your own backyard and stop worrying about how your neighbor takes care of his.

Right - the process has been to make a health care decision enforced by government, not recommended by doctors. The government first tried to incentivize by donuts and other dumb stuff. Then, when that didn’t work, they moved on to finding ways to punish you for noncompliance. Now, we’re gently sliding into mandates.

I find the entire process troubling. I think that if the genesis of it had been by doctors - you know people who swore an oath to first do no harm; there would have been much less skepticism and a whole lot more acceptance. Further, if the push had been to demonstrate to people how and why it works-instead of “because I say so that’s why,” the Covidians would have run into much less resistance.

The vaccine was pushed by people who have either a profit motive or a power motive. Either way, the interest was not one that good doctors have - which is patient motivated.
