LINK

So we are now on the verge of seeing a war to silence conservative news outlets.

quote:

Bump’s smear on Drudge is a watered down version of Media Matters hit piece claiming the news aggregator was a pipeline for Kremlin propaganda. Left-wing hit machine Media Matters published perhaps one of its most erroneous “reports” yet — “How Matt Drudge became the pipeline for Russian propaganda“

Matt Gertz, a Senior Fellow at Media Matters, purports media titan Matt Drudge is a puppet for Russian president Vladimir Putin because the Drudge Report has linked to Kremlin-linked news publications

how is this any different than your war on the MSM?

Why dont we all come together to declare war on all agenda driven "news" outlets, not just the ones on the other "team"?

Media Matters talking shite about people being propagandists is high comedy.

Someone send them a bunch of cheese pizzas.

You are actually equating an “esteemed” media outlet with an anonymous poster on an obscure message board?

I agree overall, but the Democrats haven't exactly wanted to declare a war on agenda driven news, have they?

This. Conservatives complain about fake liberal news and the usual response is "melt" or some other super constructive pot shot. Then, when you link something from Brietbart or Daily Caller, these same assholes call you a propagandist.

Please link the war to "silence" the MSM.

As far as I have seen, people are just calling for honest news. And maybe fair news.

From the original article - they looked at 10 years of Drudge history saved at 2 minute intervals and came up with 1000 "Russian" events. Given the poorly written article, you could take this in one of two ways -

1. 2000 minutes of "Russian" links over 10 years. This gives a total time on the Drudge main page of 33 hours. This seems too low over a 10 year period.

2. If the 1000 "Russian" links are to unique web pages over the 10 year period, it gives 8.3 links on average per month.

They went to the trouble of getting hits for the NYT and Washington Post for comparison with Drudge hits, but they did not go the trouble to show how many times Drudge linked to those sites. I am sure that they looked but showing the comparison between Drudge links to these sites vs. "Russian" links would let people see what a small thing this actually is. Better to just give the single data point and make a lot of noise about how bad that point is to get people riled up. muh Russians.
