Doubtful.
ICE is busy running raids at the addresses of tens of thousands of known criminals right now. I sure as frick hope they haven't stepped down to low yield actions like checkpoints yet.

ICE isn’t conducting checkpoints in New Orleans. They only go after the worst of the worst. They’re not a patrol agency.

ICE knows where to work to get who they are looking for specifically. If they're running checkpoints, it's to choke out who they are specifically targeting, as checkpoints to illegals are probably going to have a small success rate anyway. Your friend is just playing into exactly what ICE wants. This isn't the Mickey Mouse outfit that has been around for the last 4 years.
