So what, exactly, is the problem with real federal spending cuts?

Asking for 2 friends from Kentucky.
How are we ever going to make America great again if we're running $1.5T deficits annually on our $35T debt? Or, hell, even $1T annual deficits.

Need to own the libs, by outspending them. It’s a brilliant plan! You just aren’t smart enough to realize it.

Neither side in Congress wants to lose their extra income from fleecing the American taxpayers.

You are so triggered that you can't capitalize the slogan. That's like typing god.

For a depressing number of people that answer depends on who's in the WH.

This is the problem, everyone of those fricks is screwing us all the way to the bank.
The red v blue is to keep us occupied and fighting with each other so they can continue the steal.

Trump supports this bloated budget too, correct?

Massie is getting roasted by MAGA for wanting real spending cuts, so not every one of them

According to positions you’ve taken in the past, it would result in a deflationary situation which would hurt for a while.
I certainly wish the Republican Party would be interested in real cuts.

The problem is that the US is addicted to fiscal stimulus, i.e., debt. Breaking that addiction will be painful, people will lose jobs, incomes will suffer, there will be more dependency initially. The stock market would drop and bond prices might drop too. Wall Street experts will never support austerity because it would crush their fat salaries and bonuses. It will take longer than one election cycle to see signs of recovery, and that's an economic third rail for career politicians. They'd rather gradually destroy the country than risk losing the next election.

Nothing. Enjoy never getting real spending cuts because you adhere to an all or nothing approach.

I'm just hoping the Dems win the midterms so I as a GOP representative in a safe district I can get back to austerity fund raising rhetoric and at the same time ride the coattails of Democrat overspending.
Signed, Republicans in safe districts.

It's now or never. The window is here for the next two years to actually shrink the govt and reduce the deficit. If we don't, we're fricked as a country. It's debt spiral hyperinflation soon. We're reaching debt as a percentage of gdp red line. We'll need to learn Mandarin. besset / trump beating the shite out of our worthless Republican Congress is the only hope.

So you promise Trump will support them in 2026? Wait until that opportunity and we swear hell do it then?
Because the BBB doesn't have them

False.
The lobbyists who control Congress are addicted to federal pork.

Winner.
Dems run on trying to pass govt. spending bills.
GOP runs on voting against things they know will pass. But will vote for them if they have the leadership in place.

Trump has already accomplished more spending cuts than your stupid "libertarian" heroes will ever achieve in their careers. The people you idolize do not understand how to get what they want over time.
