Ever been under TRICARE Remote? That's the biggest argument against right there if you have.

I haven't seen that. I've seen several posts saying that our current system isn't great but universal health care would be worse.

The US provides the best healthcare in the world BECAUSE we spend more on our healthcare. Our cancer patients live longer, our hospitals have lower cases of spreading infections, and our facilities are the most advanced and accessible.

If you give full control to the Government, the first thing they are gonna due is cut treatment for life threatening diseases, and spend more on gender reassignment, plastic surgeries, etc.

I used to work as ski patrol in Northern NY. Met a number of Canadians that were not fond of their system.

That is bullshite

5 years my arse

Oh but I forgot, with government control that will fix everything

Biden or warren or sanders know so much about running large organizations and the collection of public sector and education employees with no real world experience will run health care just like the fbi and intel community!

Seems like a terribly inefficient way to operate don't you think?

why do people insist on forcing others to pay for their own health care? why don't they pay for their own healthcare?

not talking about existing Medicare and Medicaid, talking about the UNIVERSAL healthcare cited herein

here's the solution, pay for one's own healthcare and then with the leftover money that some seem so anxious to spend on other people's healthcare, voluntarily contribute to a fund to offset mine and others healthcare expenses

this is agreeable

We already have the most expensive system in the world and it's not even close

Do you think rationing has anything to do with that?

What about low salaries for doctors?

He did

And I pay more in taxes than most people

I'm just trying to figure out why people ardently defend and objectively bad system. We're paying for a new Mercedes and getting a used Kia out of it.

Our current system is by far the costliest in the world and it is certainly not the best system.

according to OP's chart our public spending is currently MORE per capita than almost anyone else's. That is an interesting fact.

Another is the often repeated mantra that our health care system is "certainly not the best system." I'm not so sure about "certainly." What you can say for sure is there are some areas where we are pretty weak overall, but also that there are some aspects of our health care system that are absolutely second to none.

But it doesn't seem logical to use cost as a part of that argument when we have by far the most expensive system.

How do you propose we cut spending?

No country has ever reduced health spending

I haven't seen anyone defend the current system. However, seeing the VA operate tells me all I need to know about medicare for all.

Other countries are willing to accept average care for cheaper costs and culturally accept their own personal responsibility for remaining healthy. Americans want elite care, no matter the cost (since practically no one pays for healthcare directly out of pocket), and are the most unhealthy people on the planet.

Sounds like we're electing to be stupid if you ask me

Seeing any system in this country operate will make your head explode IMO
