We're all one tragedy away from dying, too How do you suppose we prevent that?

Nobody wants status quo except insurance companies and those who can overcharge because of insurance companies.

THIS IS NOT A FREE MARKET FFS.

Why is the only argument for a fix always more fricking government?

Thirds parties are the PROBLEM. A fourth party is a BIGGER PROBLEM.

And THIS proves how healthcare is a privilege & NOT a "right". Gov't doesn't force a right by indenturing someone else. A right is protected. It's shameful that many in this country do not know the difference.

If you defend the current system please tell me why

I know this is 19 pages in, but OP is asking for main argument against universal healthcare and then below it asking why you defend the current system. These are two very different questions.

Argument against Universal is who is running it, the US Government. No thanks.

Defend the current system, no. Take it over government run universal, yes. All day, everyday.

Our current system is by far the costliest in the world and it is certainly not the best system.

It’s also the best quality healthcare in the world.

Also using health expenditures per capita is misleading because compared to other nations the USA is extremely unhealthy. There are so many people in this country I don’t even know how in the hell we keep them alive
