You're telling me I have to choose either Nungesser or Cassidy for Senate?

People on this board truly hate him. I can't understand why? Lt. Governor basically does nothing except promote tourism....that's it. I'm not sure I've ever seen Billy have an unpopular position....or any position at all for that matter.

One thing that is not clear from that article is whether he is asking Landry to oppose the diversion.

That thing is getting built, and I will vote against anyone who argues otherwise.

The time to successfully oppose the diversions is long past. Billy is just pandering.

No elected official in or from Plaquemine Parish is clean.

I'm very curious as to what Jeff Landry is now promising Nungesser in exchange for his support in the Governor's race.

Just curious, has Billy Nungesser ever had a real, actual job? Or has he been at the government teat his entire life?

At some point, elected positions need to be done for some people. It’s time to go do something else.

He started and ran his own business in offshore oilfield services for a while, and his first run at elected office was only one year prior to Jeff Landry's first attempt.

Nungesser ran for Parish President in 2006, and Landry ran for State Senate in 2007 (though was defeated by Troy Hebert in the runoff).

From wiki:

quote:

While working in his family's offshore catering business, Nungesser found an alternative use for metal ship containers. In 1991, he established General Marine Leasing Company, a business which provides portable living quarters for offshore workers. The company grew to employ two hundred people and reach $20 million in sales.

He does come from a wealthy political family. Though they were early republicans and Treen backers.

I won't either, under absolutely any circumstances. Also, there's no doubt in my mind that Cassidy will lose to a democrat if he runs again. Nungesser will likely as well.

GOP needs to be looking for some up and comers because the Dems are licking their chops, ready to run a moderate who will be able to siphon votes from independents.

Huh? Cassidy will roll if he runs in '26, without a runoff just like 2020.
