Blacks Say Whites Who Think "Voter ID Laws Are Racist" Are Ignorant Racists

Have you familiarized yourself with some of the required documents needed for even a free ID, and some challenges some people have obtaining those documents?
Did you know that many of the things tha require an ID in the list in your first post, the places will accept an expired state ID? Guess where you can't use an expired state ID? So they should get a new one. Fair. Did you know in a transient society/economy a lot of people move between states, and some states require a current state ID to obtain a new state ID in that state?
Sometimes considering these things requires a little thinking outside the box and some empathy. Yes, to you and me it's a foreign concept to get through life without a driver's license or ID. There's a wealth of information out there that won't satiate your confirmation bias like this board will that can answer your question.
I don't think Voter ID law are inherently racist. I do think they're an attempt to discourage certain demographics from voting, or at the least make it more challenging for them.

Is a legitimate voter disenfranchised by an illegal alien voting in the opposite direction of the actual US citizen? Her vote was nullified by the illegal action of an illegal alien.
Tough spot to be in if you (not you specifically) think disenfranchisement is an important issue.

The Same documents you need to be registered in public school. If this is the case then start issuing ID's in high schools, and then keeps citizens in the system so they can renew every 5-10 years. Once you are in the system like at the DMV you stay there in the state you reside in.
We have the technology and ability to keep up with people on databases so I dont see why once someone is in a system it is so hard to stay in it unless people are trying to go off of the grid.

I have an excellent argument. We have no indications that in-person fraud is happening in this country. In-person fraud is the only type of election fraud prevented by voter IDs. We do have indications from multiple sources that voter ID laws as they're written in the US are disproportionately disenfranchising to minorities (sometimes intentionally, sometimes accidentally).
Given all that, it's a solution in search of a problem. Pushing for said solution knowing that it harms individuals and solves no problems is racist.
How many times were you dropped on your head as an infant?

Of course you would give the middle finger to a group whos sole reason for being is to protect the rights of all citizens in the USA. But what did I really expect from this crowd

I don't give a frick. If you are not capable of obtaining an ID you are not capable of being an adult and don't deserve to vote. Quit sucking at being an adult and you have no problem.

Voter IDs aren't racist. Democrats are racist and they oppose measures that will hurt their numbers.
That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

Exactly. There is no reason on Earth why an American citizen cannot obtain an ID with minimal effort.

One would think, but our departments don't talk to each other. You're on the file with one agency, but not the other. And many of those are federal while voting is handled by the states. Every state should just implement automatic voter registration when you turn 18 like Oregon did. Then this part of the debate would end.
My bigger issue are the provisions in these laws that shorten early voting and the hours polls are open.

I have direct, first-hand knowledge of it. I was an election judge in my precinct. I handed out every ballot cast that day, and was watching for this.
In Minnesota, you can register on election day with nothing more than another registered voter "vouching" for your eligibility. They only have to say that they know you live in the precinct and sign a form.
I overheard a conversation over my shoulder where someone who had just voted (40-50 year old female) was telling a college student that she would vouch for him if he would just give her an address in the precinct. "They never check, and you can help make history." You tell me which party she voted for.
To his credit, the kid backed out, but I had also turned to give them a look. Not sure if they caught it, but they walked away a minute later.
This was in a white-bread and picket fence area just off campus from UM-Duluth. You want me to believe the same scene did not play out to completion many times over in less vigilant precincts all over the state?

All of this^ just to get an ID in TX. Not what one would call minimal effort unless a lawyer did it for you.

If you're too stupid to get an ID then you're too stupid to vote.

And here is the shifted goalposts.
The answer is...who cares? That is their problem. The state is making it free. All they have to do is give a frick enough to get an ID.
There are only two major Western Democracies that don't universally require ID. It is insane and designed for one thing: fraud.
There is literally no other reason.

Gasp. They have to provide some basic personal information and mark some check boxes! That's ridiculous!

Presenting a birth certificate or passport is "all of this", requiring a lawyer?
Get fricking real.

People who oppose voter ID laws know what's going on. I suppose every modern country is racist since they all have voter ID laws, even the glorious Sweden. But for some reason it is racist for America to do it. They and everyone else knows why.
