you read too much Salon

You don't read enough about the real world. That's the decision of a court on the actions of North Carolina Republicans. Also have been issues with Republicans and voter ID laws in Michigan, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas, etc.

No it doesn't.

See how that works?

If its access, then what if the government did a "book mobile" id center?

We have that. Non-driver ID cards are free, and they'll even come pick you up if needed.

The OP is right. If ID is so difficult to obtain, why is it acceptable for the rest of that list to require ID? And congressional Democrats want to add obtaining a cell phone to the list, even though cell phones are a necessity (hence the free phone program).

I still can't figure out how a person with no ID can even exist. You can't get a job without one. You can't get welfare without one. You can't open a bank account without one. So how do you even have utilities or a house or food?

My bigger issue are the provisions in these laws that shorten early voting and the hours polls are open.

Two things here;

1 - Shortened early voting: the "voters" claiming voter ID is racist could give a frick what hours the polls are open. (Unless your a democrat politician of course.) Most, if not all of them don't work so they have PLENTY of time to get out and vote. You can bet your sorry arse that they don't miss that monthly "gub'ment check" or any deadlines that come with cashing it. Go check out a bank on the first of every month or the next business day following the first of every month. You're liable to get stampeded or bitch slapped if you get in their way of cashing that check. Simple. No voter ID? No vote for you!

2 - The hours the polls are open: See explanation for item 1 and copy and paste it for item 2.

Wash, rinse, repeat the answer in item 1 for any lies you people have regarding voter ID.

That's how that works.
