It's a comfortable living, having a gig in D.C. Why rock the boat? They're in the seat of power, even if they don't actually run anything. They have connections, influence on some minor things, and a great retirement package. Better yet, they can 'consult' after they leave, or write a book...just stay in office, keep your head down, and do as you're told.

Gratefully, the Repubs wouldn't publicly admit it but are blessed with another convenient diversion - the approaching purchase of many more voters to the Dem party with that anticipated "1 point something trillion" dollars, plus the threatened pay-off to illegal fence jumpers who invaded here and weren't presented with an official Welcome Wagon.

These diversions are even better for taking the cup from the Repubs regarding the scandal of the Century and the purloined election than even the anticipated multi-task force, multi-state and Federal investigation into Maduro and his "export" activities that Barr and his stonewalling Rangers were so counting on not that long ago.
