The entire country is laid waste. There are limitations due to the damage and evacuation of masses of people, who have skills useful in rendering relief. At this point, what more could be done? The Governor said the administration had done everything they could, and everything they had been asked to do by him. So by all means let’s keep blaming Trump for the relief effort!

"Good story" is a bit out of touch, won't you say?

Certainly is the narrative. However, recorded wind speeds did not come close to backing up the claim in either instance as far as i'm aware

The eye of Irma traveled well north of Puerto Rico, while Maria actually made landfall. So no, they got hit by one category 5. Trump needs to stop tweeting about Puerto Rico's debt and actually show compassion though.

Q: How many Puerto Ricans does it take to change a light bulb?

A: We'll find out in 6 months.

We are about to find out how many Puerto Ricans it takes to turn Florida blue because I bet there is a huge influx of them into Florida now that their livelihoods have vanished on the island.

Haughton, you just can't wait for America to turn into a 3rd world country. Thanks for being an honest liberal.

Not sure how you got that idea from my post but whatever. I'm just stating the obvious. Puerto Ricans are US citizens so they can freely come to the mainland and settle anywhere they want and I'm guessing many will leave the island and settle in Florida because of this hurricane. I could be wrong and if the reconstruction is done right then many may stay.

We really should cut them lose, give them full independence.

The whole "they are citizens but don't pay taxes and don't get to vote" it's just not a good arrangement for anyone.

One would be pretty damn stupid to resettle in Florida to escape hurricane impacts

Maria was a high end 4 when she hit PR and you're not typically going to get ground level recordings of the max winds in that case because there either wasn't an instrument where the max winds were or it broke from the winds.

So strongest hurricane to make landfall in any US lands this season and one of the strongest ever at a US landfall, much less on an island of 3.5 million.

They didn't even get hurricane winds from Irma, so forget the second storm part of the narrative.

Well since you don't care about millions of AMERICAN citizens impacted by this devastation, I can't imagine you also caring about the NFL protests, and especially not being upset them.

And of course, I only had to go your second one of posts to find this Post
quote:

The SJWs confuse country and government. It's fine to hate or dislike the current government. It is not ok to hate our country. The flag represents our country.
And that was Sunday morning, before the usual afternoon kickoffs started, when only a handful of players had been protesting.

So you care about what you perceive as disrespecting the nation, but a few football players, yet you don't care about the massive devastation of our nation's territory populated by millions of us citizens hundreds and maybe thousands have died or are in life threatening situations.

And you criticize the SJWers, yet you're just showing that you have the same mentality. They just resort virtue-signaling by expressing outrage and being offended by some tiny sample of "symbols of oppression," but when it comes to focusing on or doing anything of substance, they are nowhere to he found whenever they can't show off their future to their friends.

You just resort to virtue-signaling by expressing outrage and being offended by some tiny sample of disrespect toward "symbols of patriotism," but just like the SJWers, actually focusing on substantive things that make up that symbolism, it's a lot harder to virtue-signal to your friends since true substance of a virtue is usually not near salient as the symbols.

Some patriotism.

Sounds like the government in Puerto Rico is on the same level of competence of New Orleans.
Florida is next?
