So how is teaching a kid that knows nothing about sex that he or she is of the wrong sex okay?

Pedos are wrong. People teaching kids that they can be anything is wrong. Gender identity is something I couldn't care less about when you're older. Gender is important. You can identify as a butterfly for f*s sake but when asking about prostate cancer or ovarian cancer... one of these things is not like the other...
